Google Superbowl commercial | CODA

As Senior Producer I oversaw the project from brief to final cut and delivery for the Superbowl and sourced our edit partner. The ad won a Gold Pencil from The One Show and a Wood Pencil from D&AD. The commercial, which showcased the story of Googler Tony Lee and his family, highlighted the use of Google's real-time captioning tools to bridge communication gaps during the pandemic. The campaign also received recognition for its inclusion and accessibility message, with many acknowledging its success in highlighting Google's commitment to DEI efforts.

As a CODA, or “child of deaf adults,” Tony has always straddled two worlds. And now that he hasn’t been able to see his parents in over a year, staying close is more important, but also more difficult, than ever. But with the help of assistive technologies like Live Captions and Google Meet, Tony and his family are able to share the moments that matter most.
